As well as creating renewable energy for local homes and businesses, our anaerobic digestion plant also produces a high level of nutrients and minerals to be recycled back to the land, in the form of solid or liquid digestate.
As part of our digestate management plan, this is removed from site either via our in-house slurry spreading team or via an external contractor. By having a team on hand within Adapt Biogas, this allows us to be more self-sufficient, more informed and allows a more structured approach to our removals.
Our digestate produced from a mixture of crops, residual farm feed and cattle muck contains vital sources of Nitrates, Phosphate and Potash, as well as useful amounts of trace and micro elements. This is a natural and sustainable alternative to industry produced mineral fertiliser.
By creating an optimum fertility level, whilst increasing the availability of nutrients within the land, farmers can expect to see a decrease in costs, an increase in crop yield and a higher soil quality. Alongside this there is more opportunity for nutrient planning and improved land recovery.
At Adapt Biogas we work with local farmers in the surrounding areas, to ensure they receive a professional and effective digestate spreading service, whilst also considering current spreading restrictions and of course weather conditions.
